What some of our customers had to say...

George,

Though I sent a testimonial for you to share on your site, I thought it might be a good idea to tell you personally how delighted I was with your knowledge and service. As you know, I searched all over looking for a set for my 11 year old, (and myself) to enjoy. Your buyers guide on your website, was THE MOST INFORMATIVE RESOURCE for anyone looking to buy.

Furthermore, you really sealed the deal when I called and spoke with you personally regarding my needs, and you helped steer me in the right direction. The set showed up a few days before Christmas. My son and I are enjoying it more than you could imagine. I’m very satisfied with the quality of the set and your recommendation on the cymbal package. Lastly, when I contacted you about some missing hardware, you were more than willing to ship me what I THOUGHT I was missing. In fact, I was incorrect and only one of the cymbal stands was missing.

Again, you went above and beyond by sending me an upgraded stand as opposed to the entry-level equipment that was supposed to come with the kit. Thank you, George for thoroughly exceeding my expectations. I am telling everyone that has an interest in music, about your shop. Thanks for everything. I WILL be back.

Sincerely Peter J. Anderson

George-
Just received the snare drum this morning. It's beautiful. Thank you so much for taking the time to do such a nice job. I'll send you pictures after I put the drum back together. brooks

George,
Tonight I received my 17" A custom- that had the crack repaired. Haven't played it yet, but looks like a GREAT repair job to me! Tapped it with my finger, and far as I can tell- it pretty much sounds just like it did before! I'm VERY pleased. Count me a friend, and I'm glad to spread the word..
Thanks again-

Hi George.

I'm very happy with the work you did on my drum. I also appreciate
the good long phone call from Clyde to discuss options while he was
working the drum. Thanks so much, guys.

So. Next. I have a 14"x28" bass drum which needs the same wrap put
on it (Champagne Sparkle). There's nothing on the drum now (except
wood finish), so you won't need to heat gun it.

What do you think that'll run me?

Hi George, how are you??
Today the snare is here,in perfect conditions!!ALL SMOOTH!!AND THANKS FOR THE GREAT SERVICE!!
Regards,Arnaldo

Hello George,
During the Christmas holiday I visited your store for the first time. I will say that I was impressed by what I saw and was able to do. First of all, let me say that your staff was very friendly and courteous. I got lost getting there and the lady (I didn't get her name) I called talked to me on the phone and guided me right to your door. Many thanks! Also, Eric was very cool to hang with. He answered a zillion questions that I had, got the drums down off the shelf for me to check out (he just got finished putting them away 2 minutes before I arrived), and shared a video about your annual festival (really cool!) I was excited to see a drum shop that offered all that you do. Very nice. There is a question that I have about the RMV drums you have. Eric gave me some valuable info on these drums ( his knowledge about the products you have was impressive), but I would also appreciate a pro's opinion as well. I read your article about chosing drums, however I believe it was written prior to the introduction of RMV. I like the looks, sound and feel of these drums. I've been to the manufacturers web page and read articles in drum mags. I've been playing semi-seriously for about 14 yrs. Would you mind giving your opinion on these drums. I plan to buy a new set and it will most likely be from you. Thanks for your time. I would like to come back up to the store one night this week and look again.
Respectfully,Bob

Hi George,
My name is Rebecca Turner and I had the pleasure of working with an employee of yours by the name of Anthony, via e-mail and telephone. I had a problem with a snare I purchased and he was more than helpful in fixing my problem as soon as he could. I almost feel like he went out of his way to help me, and as you may very well know, nothing makes a customer feel more important or more relaxed. He was one of the most professional, and helpful people I have ever worked with. You run a very professional business and I do hope to work with you and your staff in the future.
Happy Holidays!
A very pleased customer.
Rebecca Turner

Dear Mr. Lawrence,
For the sake of identification, my son Matt Smith was your World's Fastest Drummer Winner.
We just wanted to tell you how impressed we were by your drum festival. Not only was it the most competitive one we had seen this summer, it was far and away the best organized...and in a first class venue. Unlike some other events we have seen, you always knew what was going on and when. Moreover, you surrounded your event with top rank name players, performing a variety of different genres for the kids, and they were all nice guys...well done.
I also thought it was nice to have a WFD competition alongside a standard drum set competition. It expanded the festival in a good way, and your WFD people were good to emphasize the contest's fundamentals over the victory itself, which is what WFD should be when it comes to teenage participation. Although it is probably a little strange (but entertaining) to see men in their 30s and 40s compete, the WFD is excellent for advocating the necessary practice of rudiments for kids 20 and under. In the case of my son it worked out nicely. Matt has practiced on the Drumometer for about a month, and I can already hear an overall cleaner sound musically. After playing a little under his normal standard in the drum set competition, he still had the WFD competition to look forward to. This is important to a 15 year old kid. You may not have been aware how competitive your WFD fastest hand event actually was. Any of three scores that day (Matt's 1008 preliminary, the second place finisher's 1003 preliminary, and Matt's 1000 in the finals) would have placed third in the recent world championships, where a score of 1021 won it all. According to Matt, your required speeds were much faster than recent similar events in Hong Kong, Holland, Boston, Vancouver, and several other venues. You had some fast people in the Cleveland area.
Again...thanks for a job well done, and Matt looks forward to receiving his snare drum prize when it arrives.
Best Wishes,
Tom Smith

Hi, George. Welcome to the Falls. Was in your shop yesterday for "a pair" of sticks....walked our with almost $60 worth of stuff. It's good to have an exclusive drum shop very close by. I am now saying good-bye to Lentines and Sam Ash. I'm also spreading the word about your store by email to all of my player friends, and asking them to, in turn, also pass the word about your store.

My brother is also a player....you might remember him from around Christmas when he came in looking for a 15-imch tom head. You told him you would stock them soon because you also play a 15-inch tom. We've both played since the late 60's.

Anyway, great store & website.
Thanks again, George.

Bob

Hey George,

I just wanted to say thanks for helping me with the new drum heads, rim mounts and the K Custom Hybrid cymbals. Jim Gill & Friends had our gig at Tri-C this past Sunday and my band mates commented on how good my drums (and new cymbals) sounded. They said they definitely noticed a difference and improvement in how the drums sounded. I’m looking forward to my gig this Friday with my other band (AlterEgo) to see what they think. Also, please pass along my thanks to Clyde for his help and expertise in this “project”. I appreciate him checking out my bearing edges for me, and explaining what to look for when you check them.

You are truly a drummer’s best friend!

Thanks again George,

Hey George
I took some lessons from you this past summer. I had just gotten laid off and was searching for a job at the time and was a little stressed when I was there !!!!, it was September before I got a job by the way!!! Just wanted to touch base with you and let you know how much you helped me. I really hate taking lessons because I tense up for whatever reasons and have always learned everything on my own, but it seems whatever you did has turned me into a much better drummer. Now reading is fun and now I see how to figure out stuff the correct way. It`s kind of addicting!!! Anyway, thanks a lot for everything, I think one of the things you try to convey is that a lot of "difficult" drumming aspects are not really difficult after all, you give people the knowledge they need to move out of that state of mind. I am really just now having time to practice alot of what I learned from you, because I was so busy trying to get a job then the new one was alot of adjustment, but I seemed to have retained a good foundation from last summer's lessons. Thanks man and good luck on everything!!!!

George,
I just thought I'd chime in and let you know that I've been getting a lot of compliments from musicians around here on the way these Taye TourPros sound (and look). The guys in my band are really impressed, and now, as we get more exposure I'm starting to hear from folks in other bands too (we don't play out a lot). The last nice compliment came last weekend from a couple of guys who play in a local C&W band. They said the Tayes sounded just right, they reiterated that point several times, and that they sounded real 'woody'. I don't know exactly what that means, but I like it. Speaking of woody, I'm using the Taye snare rather than my supra. I do enjoy the more mellow sound it produces. I've even invested in better mics (than those I had) so that I'd get a truer reproduction of the sound.

Thanks again for your good advice and assistance,
Brent Olesen, Utah

YOU CAN TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS! IM A 45 Y.O. SELF TAUGHT DRUMMER THAT RECENTLY HAD THE PRIVELEGE TO SPEND 4 CONSECUTIVE DAYS IN NASHVILLE WITH GEORGE. FLEW IN ON MONDAY AM AND STARTED LEARNING TO READ, STICKING, LATIN BEATS, STRAIGHT AHEAD COUNTRY, GENERAL TECHNIQUE TO IMPROVE CRISPNESS AND SO FORTH. GEORGE ACTED LIKE A GOLF COACH IN THAT HE WAS BUILDING ON MY STRENGTHS ALREADY. HE WAS EXPLAINING TO ME HOW TO DO A PARTICULAR LATIN BEAT (MOZAMBIQUE) AND I HAD TO HAVE HIM WRITE IT DOWN SO I COULD FOLLOW. THATS WHEN I REALIZED I WAS READING. ALSO SAW A NUMBER OF REALLY GOOD DRUMMERS THAT WEEK AND EVEN HAD THE CHANCE TO SIT IN AT ONE BLUES BAR. ANYONE OUT THERE INTIMIDATED BECAUSE YOU CANT READ BUT WANT TO IMPROVE ALL AREAS OF YOUR DRUMMING. GIVE GEORGE A CALL. WHAT A GREAT TIME!! THANK YOU GEORGE--YOU DA MAN! I'LL BE BACK FOR PART 2. P.S. THE DRUMMERS LUNCH WAS HILARIOUS. GREAT STORIES AND JOKES FROM VETERAN TOUR DRUMMERS.

Folks-
I want to thank George for a lot of help over the last few days. I sold some gear to a fellow in Ohio. the fellow was squeamish about paying up front and wanted me to send COD.Well, he stiill would not have been able to test and inspect with the UPS driver standing there. George stepped up and let me ship to his place. The fellow went there, took some time testing and handled the financials with George. George then sent me moy money...FEDEX overnight. Thanks a lot George. You made this much easier for the customer and I.....A real true Shriner!!!

Steve Gardner, Phoenix

HELLO!!!
IM ONE OF THE LUCKY PEOPLE THAT GOT TO SPEND TIME WITH THE DRUM GURU IN PERSON. GEORGE TAUGHT ME HOW TO OPEN MY MIND WHEN PLAYING DRUMS. HE TAUGHT ME WHAT MUSICALITY WAS ALL ABOUT. HEY BUDDY WHEN YOU COME BACK TO MISSISSIPPI, LET ME KNOW!!!!!

Karlos Spann Brandon, Jackson MS

Wow George,
I know I've come up with some ridiculous questions thus far, and you've come through with all of em, but this it totally unexpected. Thanks again for the great support with this.

Roger (Friend, at Taye Drums) thanks for taking the time to respond to a totally insignificant question like this. I totally understand the limitations of the web and printed media when attempting to judge something like color and wood grain. Especially when you can't even guarantee that any two drums will look exactly alike due to grain differences, etc. And, I will say that Taye does a better job than most of the companies I've seen illustrating all of the color combinations, etc.

As I mentioned to George, based purely on the pictures on the site, I do, indeed like the indigo. It's deep and rich and looks very nice. I've not seen the Purple Heart, but it seems like you've got a good idea what I'm looking for, so I will strongly consider it.I'll tell you, I don't think there's really any way I'll be disappointed at this point. I've gone round and round, and checked everything else under $1000, and I keep coming back to Taye. And, as George will tell you, I'm sure, he's provided PLENTY of answers to my picky little questions over the last couple of months and been a great help throughout the entire process. I really appreciate doing business with people that treat their customers with so much respect, and I will fully recommend Taye and George whenever possible.

Thanks to both of you for all your help!
Mike Whitis

Hey George!
Finally got a chance to check out your site. Great work! You are definitely headed in the right direction. I look forward to making some of the events and seeing the books as they come out. Again, every gig I play (and I'm playing a lot!), I appreciate you, man! You helped me make it happen. See you soon.

"Dr. Pete" Pete Ward M.D

I hadn't had a formal drum lesson in years and was badly in need of one, so I decided to spend a day learning from George. I come from a very formal, rudimental, marching background but he managed to show me how to loosen up and groove with styles of music that were all but alien to me, like Latin and jazz, while still applying the skills and technique I already had. Ironically, what he taught me about groove and relaxation will make me a better rudimental player, too. I came away from the lesson with a lot to digest and I can't wait to go back and learn some more Latin for Gringos.

Brett Farmer, Fort Knox

Thanks for your help George.
I gave you a list of things I needed help with and not only did you give me useful insight and direction in those areas but you also opened up my eyes up to several areas of improvement in my playing that I had not been focusing on. With your direction and professional insight, I should have no problem at all making serious headway into becoming a more professional drummer in short order. Thanks again!
